Jubilee VOLT Festival with International
Superstars
Press Release No 1.
VOLT Festival, one of the best known and highly traditional
events of the Hungarian festival scene will welcome its visitors for the 15th
time in Sopron. In a suitable program for the jubilee, beside the Hungarian
stars, international names from the well known European festivals are present.
Although the list of performers is far from complete, it is for sure that Korn,
the Prodigy, Koop, Fort Knox Five and Laibach will be there - beside many others-
on VOLT between 4th July and 7th July.
The second best known event of the Hungarian festival scene
- after Sziget - is VOLT in Sopron. Sopron is next to the Western border at
the bottom of the Alps, 60 kilometres from Vienna, 220 kilometres from Budapest.
For the 15th time, the beautiful green area of Hungary’s oldest jewel will host
the visitors of VOLT festival (also prepared by the organizers of Sziget Festival).
The four day long VOLT festival awaits its guests with a dozen program venues,
250 music and other cultural performances, camping and additional services.
The Prodigy and Korn on VOLT!
We will have a special, strong international line up on the jubilee VOLT Festival.
The biggest hits of the bands that are already confirmed are the most important
phenomenon of the last 15 years in the electronic music scene, THE PRODIGY and
the foot-stone of the new generation in the metal genre, KORN. They will visit
VOLT after a tour of sold out stadium concerts and major European festivals.
Ten-thousands are attending both bands' concerts all across the world. The Superstars
will have such a technical arsenal on the Soproni Mainstage that their shows
will be an unforgettable experience.
International Cavalcade of music genres
As ambassadors of funk-break, FORT KNOX FIVE (from the label of Thievery Corporation),
after touring with Gwen Stefani, will entertain the audience of VOLT festival.
SUMO, the duo from Stockholm operating with hot latin and deep, dark afro tunes
will be also on stage at VOLT along with the coolest export product of Sweden,
KOOP. There will be quite some artists representing the neighbour country, Austria.
There is the forever young LOUISE AUSTEN in his white suit, who is the very
charm and romantics and reconfiguretes Sinatra’s heritage into electro-disco
and PAROV STELAR, the most popular Austrian DJ/producer, who will also be the
guest of VOLT. The Slovene LAIBACH, founded back in the 80’s but always reforming
itself will fascinate the audience with a unique visual world, stiff tempo,
military feeling and impressive covers (on their last albums they made covers
for anthems). For those, who are looking for some dancing fever TOUCH AND GO
will give a dashing show. Their first hit “Would You” was a bomb and it is still
on air in radios and parties. There will be many more shows for the fans of
electro-dance music, for instance TUBE-TECH, best known for their cover of The
Doors, has already confirmed its presence at VOLT Festival. (Budapest, March
7, 2007)
