THE TEE SET
Holland
This group The Tee Set from Delft was formed in 1965 by singer
Peter Tettero (ex-Shats). After having, for the most part, played r&b, their
repertoire became more and more commercial. The records came out on their own
Teeset Records label.
At the time of the foundation, they were: Peter (vocals), Carry
Janssen (drums, later to Nico Haak), Gerard Romeyn (bass, 1966-67 on guitar,
to the Motions). In 1966 Robert Plazier (keyboards, ex-C-Sounds, later with
Nico Haak) and Franklin Madjid (bass, ex-James Mean) came on board.
Hans van Eyck had already been playing regularly with them
then, and composed many songs for the Tee Set. In 1967, a whole new lineup was
formed: Peter, Franklin, Pierre van der Linden (drums, replaced by Joop Blom,
ex-James Mean, soon thereafter), Dill Bennink (keyboards, guitar), Ferdy Karmelk
(guitar, ex-James Mean and later in Les Baroques, already soon replaced by Englishman
Ray Fenwick, who had played with Gene Vincent and Christian St. Peters and later
found in After Tea) and Jan Pieter Boekhoorn (organ, ex-Jumping Pop-ins, later
in Sympathy). Boekhoorn already left in 1967 and was followed by resp. Peter
Seilberger (later in Fairy Tale, stayed until 1969) and Hans van Eyck (ex-After
Tea), who then stayed permanently.
1970: Peter (vocals), Hans (keyboards), Herman van Boeyen (drums,
ex-Fullhouse, already in the same year followed by Max Spangenberg), Ferry Lever
(guitar, ex-After Tea, stayed till 1975), Franklin Madjid (bass). The Tee Set
are still around, their fan-club site is located at http://www.betuwe.net/~tee-set.
Polle Eduard was also a member in the beginning, playing on guitar (1965-66)
and bass (1966).

MA BELLE AMIE
Tee Set
Ma belle amie
You were a child of the sun
And the sky and the deep blue sea
Ma belle amie
Apres tous les beaux jours
Je te dis merci merci
You were the answer of all my questions
Before we're through
I want to tell you that I adore you
And always do
That you amaze me by leaving me now
And start a-new
Ma belle amie I'm in love with you
CHORUS
Let the bells ring
Let the birds sing
Let's all give my substitute a big cheer
Let the bells ring
Let the birds sing
For the man after him waits here
For the man after him waits here
Ma belle amie
You were a child of the sun
And the sky and the deep blue sea
Ma belle amie
There was a time that you thought
That your only friend was me
You were the answer of all my questions
Before we're through
I want to tell you that I adore you
And always do
That you amaze me by leaving me now
And start a-new
Ma belle amie I'm in love with you
CHORUS
