Overtures is a melodic hard 'n' heavy band born in Gorizia,
Italy, in June 2003. The original line-up was composed by Marco Falanga (guitar),
Daniele
Piccolo (guitar), Luka Klanjscek (bass), Marko Klanjscek (drums) and, after
a few months, Michele Guaitoli (voice). Overtures' first concert was in September
2003. From the first months of 2004, Overtures jumped into the local scene
preserving a constant quality of live concerts in pubs, clubs, parties and
public shows.
In May 2005, followed by Andrea Rigonat, Elisa's guitarist,
Overtures recorded their first studio demo-CD, containing three original songs: "Hidden
Treasures", "Town
Of Desolation", and "Silent Observer". Recordings are lately
completed during September 2005 at Filippo Massa and Irene Pehlijan's private
studio in Trieste with a vocal re-recording and a complete re-mastering. Reviews
of the CD are avalaible on the website www.overtures.it .
During Summer 2006, Overtures started to record their first
full-length album, containing eight original songs: "Beyond The Waterfall", "Toy", "Faded
Dream", "Town Of Desolation", "Silent Observer", "The
Self-Pitier", "A
Time Of My Life" and "Hideout", for a total length of about
40 minutes. In May 2007 Overtures sign a contract with "VideoRadio",
Italian label of artists such as Andrea Braido, Faso-Meyer-Menconi, and other
relevant Italians.
"VideoRadio" released the CD, entitled "Beyond
The Waterfall" in
July 2007, in stores in Italy and worldwide on "iTunes". Reviews
of the CD are also avalaible on the website of the band - www.overtures.it .
Songs taken from the two CDs have been transmitted on these radio stations:
Ash Radio (United
States), Local Radio (Germany),
Radio Bluff (salerno, Italy), Radio Gorizia 1 (Gorizia, Italy), Radio Nova
(Sassari, Italy), Radio Onde Furlane (Udine, Italy), Radio Vozuela (Portugal),
South Hampton's Radio (England)...
Overtures' line-up is following: Michele Guaitoli - Vocals; Daniele Piccolo
- Guitar; Marco Falanga - Guitar; Luka Klanjscek - Bass; Andrea Cum - Drums.
In August 2007 Overtures have their first change of line-up.
Because of some personal problems, Marko Klanjscek choose to leave the band.
His place is taken
by Andrea Cum, ex member of the bands "Fear no Evil" and "Dagh".
