Bereavement was formed in 2005 out of the ashes of Enamored,
who released the demos "A Stolen Season" and "Black Oceans".
Jonathan, Daniel and Jeremiah decided to refine the sound they began crafting
in Enamored,
an experimental progressive black / death metal band. Guitarist Ryan Buechie
joined Bereavement in 2006.
"The Advent Of Loss" is Bereavement's first offering, clocking in
at 37 minutes. The album features heavy and traditional (clean) vocals, acoustic
and electric guitars, and an organic rhythm section. Recorded, mixed and mastered
entirely by the band, much time was taken to assure the quality of both - the
songs and the recording itself.
Bereavement released "The
Advent Of Loss" in July od 2007, and are
supporting the album by performing 6-8 live shows a month, as well as sending
the disc out to reviewers / radio stations / record labels worldwide. They
beleive that their sound is unique, and can best be descriped as death / dark
melodic metal. The definition of Bereavement is: to suffer a great loss; A
state of sadness, grief, and mourning for the loss. One can read further in
to the definition and look at the end result of Bereavement, which can actuelly
be liberating and positive. It's a very powerful emotion, at times as unpredictable
as an act of nature. Making music available to every potential fan in the most
professional way possible is paramount.
